Netgem.tv has launched its personalised Internet TV service in Ireland, following its entry into the UK market last year, with a range of smart-home devices distributed on Amazon, Ebay from today, and with more retail distribution channels and broadband service provider partners to follow, according to the company.
The service will bring together live channels from digital-terrestrial platform Saorview and on-demand content through one interface, for the first time to Irish viewers.
The Netgem.tv app-controlled TV service in the UK brought together paid-for TV content and digital-terrestrial channels from Freeview in one personalised recommendation service for mobile devices and TV screens.
In 2018, netgem.tv launched a range of smart-home devices including an all-in-one FreeviewPlay soundbar and TV streamer, the Soundbox HD and the NetBox HD.
Netgem.tv in the UK features Amazon Prime Video, Rakuten, Youtube and Hayu among other content partners.
The Irish service is currently available on Amazon.co.uk, with additional distribution expected soon.
Sylvain Thevenot, managing director of netgem.tv said: “We are excited about this expansion of our next generation TV service and look forward to bringing the best of free and paid-for content to the Irish market. Personalised, on-demand TV is the future of home viewing and we are proud to be at the vanguard of the streaming revolution. We’re confident that our combination of great content in a smart and reliable service will be a big hit with TV lovers in Ireland and look forward to growing our proposition here with more distribution partners and more brilliant Video services.’’
