Dutch cableco VodafoneZiggo will increase its peak residential internet download speeds from 400Mbps to 500Mbps in mid-April, whilst B2B cable modem top downlink rates will be upgraded from 500Mbps to 600Mbps, applicable to both new and existing subscribers.
Consumer start-up package speeds will also be boosted to 50Mbps/5Mbps (down/upload) from 40Mbps/4Mbps. Upload speed on premium tariffs will remain unchanged at 40Mbps (consumer) and 50Mbps (B2B). Further upgrades to gigabit speeds are anticipated in 2019-2020 as VodafoneZiggo upgrades its entire cable broadband network to DOCSIS 3.1 standard.
