VIVA Bahrain, the leading telecom company in Bahrain signed a partnership with the leading provider of quality training and education in the Kingdom, Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) to launch the first “Cyber Security Academy” in Bahrain, powered by VIVA. The initiative aims at supporting and developing training programs and workshops for local IT professionals and students to uplift the talent and development of the Cyber Security domain in Bahrain.
Commenting on the educational partnership, Mr. Mohammed Al Khushail, Acting CEO of VIVA Bahrain said: “VIVA is delighted to collaborate with one of Bahrain’s leading professional institutes in the Kingdom to raise awareness and develop local skillset with cyber security training, as an essential tool in the development of the ICT sector of Bahrain. This will also prepare individuals and teams in expanding their knowledge about potential cyber threats and help protect the IT security across various institutions. Furthermore, this initiative will bridge the talent gap in the industry and ultimately promote Bahrain as a leading ICT hub in the region.”

On his part, Dr. Ahmed Abdulhameed Al Shaikh, Director of the BIBF stated, “Today, training is considered a top investment priority for organisations to prevent Cyber threats, and we are pleased to partner with VIVA Bahrain to train and qualify local cadres in Cyber security domains and enhance their knowledge and skillsets in frontline defense against Cyber attacks. This academy will play an important role in the development of the Kingdom's national economy and the development of IT security."
As part of this exclusive partnership, VIVA will provide consultation in designing the special curriculum. VIVA will also bring on board innovative partners to introduce leading cyber security trends and technologies to the curriculum and conduct workshops lead by VIVA’s own cyber security experts.
BIBF’s academic programmes are developed in collaboration with best-in-class international universities and are recognised by the Bahrain Higher Education Council (HEC).
