Norwegian telecoms regulator the National Communications Authority (Nasjonal kommunikasjonsmyndighet, Nkom) has published the final rules for its upcoming auction of frequencies in the 700MHz and 900MHz bands for use offshore.
As such, the regulator has confirmed that the sale process will get underway on 9 April 2019 and has advised would-be participants of a 4 April deadline for submitting an application to take part. In addition, the Nkom has confirmed that 2×30MHz in the 700MHz band will be made available for mobile services, with winning bidders able to use their spectrum from 1 November 2019. Meanwhile, a total of 2×20MHz in the 900MHz band is to be offered, which will be useable as soon as possible after the sale process is complete.
