South Asian over-the-top (OTT) video and TV platform YuppTV has launched its service in Kuwait, ahead of expansion into other Middle East markets.
The platform, which offers both live TV and content on demand, will be distributed in Kuwait by NHE for a subscription fee of US$9 per month.
“Our service is 100% legal and we offer all premium channels such as Colors, Zee, Asianet, and Star in 13 languages including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Bangladesh and many more,” said Zahra Zayat, YuppTV vice president, Middle East and North Africa.
“NHE will be our exclusive dealer in Kuwait covering the dealer distribution market and power retailers. In addition to that, we have tied up with the major telcos in the region to provide to our subscribers the ability to use the mode of payment they prefer whether cash, credit card, POS K Net, or direct carrier being.”
The platform offers around 250 TV channels in Hindi, English, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and many other Indian languages. In addition, it carries 3,000 on-demand movies in 13 languages.
Already available in the UAE, YuppTV also plans to roll out into Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and North Africa soon.
