Huawei launches 'seeds for the future' in Bangladesh

Huawei launched “seeds for the future”, its global flagship corporate social responsibility programme for Bangladesh this year designed to cultivate more ICT talents by providing opportunities on learning technologies.

In the next two months, the ICT solutions provider would hold a competition to select 10 promising students from five noted universities to impart intensive training at its headquarters on technologies.

The competition was officially launched through a press conference at The Westin Dhaka where Telecom and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar was present with Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd Chief Executive Officer Zhang Zhengjun.

Jabbar said Bangladesh's youth have a very significant contribution to the development of ICT and this process would push them one step forward for digital innovation.

Introduced in Bangladesh in 2014, the contest began globally in 2008. It has been held in 350 universities of 108 countries, taking 3,600 winners to the Huawei headquarters.

This year students of the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, and Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology can take part.

For the selection round, Huawei's expert team with a relevant university judges' panel would gradually go to these five universities and select two students from each.
