Satellite communications firm Inmarsat PLC said it inked a deal to provide its inflight broadband, GX Aviation, to Indonesian national carrier Garuda.
The deal, for which no financial details were disclosed, is in partnership with with wireless technology provider Mahata Aero Teknologi, Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa Systems.
The agreement to supply Garuda Indonesia with GX Aviation marks an extension of Mahata's existing 10-year contract with low-cost carrier Citilink, also part of the Garuda Indonesia Group.
More than 175 Garuda aircraft will be equipped with Inmarsat's technology with Lufthansa Technik responsible for managing hardware, engineering, installation design and certification while Lufthansa Systems for software platform and integration.
Inmarsat shares were trading up 1.0% at 377.50 pence each.
