Spain gained 2 million new FTTH lines in the year to November 2018, while the number of DSL lines fell by 1.3 million, according to figures published by the regulator CMNC.
CNMC says that in the month of November alone the number of broadband lines in the country increased by 56,943 to a total of 14.8 million.
While the number of DSL and cable (HFC) lines both fell, the number of FTTH lines increased by 200,000, bringing its total to 8.4 million.
CNMC also says that Movistar accounted for almost a half (46.5%) of the latter.
