EITC unites happiness and tolerance under one department to strengthen organisational framework

Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, EITC, is bringing happiness and tolerance under one banner with the addition of tolerance to its Happiness Department – a first for both the country and the UAE telco industry.

Under the guidance of Dr Mansoor Habib, the newly appointed Head of EITC Happiness and Tolerance Department, the revamped entity will now include happiness, well-being and tolerance.

This proud initiative follows the declaration by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, that 2019 will be the "Year of Tolerance" in the wake of the Year of Zayed. It also reflects the company's commitment and continuous efforts towards maximising the comfort and convenience of its employees to attain a unique and positive workplace environment. In addition, through the department, the company aims to empower society and all the individuals via targeted initiatives.

Dr. Mansoor Anwar Habib, Head of the Department of Happiness and Tolerance at Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, said, "Under the unified scope of the Happiness and Tolerance Department, EITC will actively strengthen its role to honour and reflect the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s legacy and strive to fulfil his vision of creating a tolerant society where people from all backgrounds can coexist."

"By establishing a dynamic corporate culture focused on the promotion of tolerating and accepting others, we will be able to dutifully acknowledge the inspiring visions bestowed upon us by the UAE’s forefathers and eliminate disparities between mindsets and prejudices that prohibit diversity from flourishing within the walls of our organisation," he added.

As an advocate for promoting happiness and tolerance, EITC will be one of the first semi-government companies to fulfil the government’s agenda for the two areas under one unified umbrella. The revamped department will continue to set the precedent for how companies across the key sectors of the UAE promote diversity in their day-to-day organisational activities.

Since joining du in 2009, Dr. Anwar has established two in-house staff clinics and a wellness department. Prior to this, he was the company’s Senior Director - Employee Wellness and Happiness, with a focus on steering wellness programmes to boost employee welfare and productivity.
