ISP CanalBox Caraibes, a subsidiary of Canal Plus Overseas, has launched its fibre-optic services in the overseas collectivity (collectivity d’outre-mer, COM) of Saint-Martin, while also introducing fibre-optic plans with down/uplink of 1Gbps/500Mbps in the French overseas territories (departements d’outre-mer, DOM) of Guadeloupe and Martinique.
The fibre-optic network in Saint-Martin has been rolled out by Orange and is co-financed by Canal Plus Telecom (parent of CanalBox Caraibes). The infrastructure is currently available in Quartier-d’Orleans, Oyster-Pond and Anse-Marcel. Baie-Orientale, Mont-Vernon, Concordia and part of Marigot to be covered in 1H19, with fibre to the rest of the island to be rolled out in 2H19.
