Ukrainian wireless broadband operator Intellecom (trading as Giraffe) has had its 2300MHz band licence extended for five years by telecoms regulator the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications & Informatisation (NCCIR), reports Liga.net.
The company is also considering the option of participating in an upcoming open tender for a transition to 4G LTE technology, for which the NCCIR is expected to conduct a reassessment of the value of frequencies in the band. Giraffe currently provides wireless broadband access based on WiMAX and Canopy systems.
