Amman, Jordan: Umniah, a subsidiary of Batelco Bahrain, has recently been nominated for the Gulf Customer Experience 2018 awards in the Digital Transformation and Best Application for Mobile Phone Use categories.
The fourth Gulf Customer Experience awards will take place on January 22, 2019, in Dubai, and recognize companies that excel in the customer service field across multiple categories, providing outstanding experiences that enrich the lives of consumers in the Middle East and Gulf region. During the closing ceremony, a panel of judges will evaluate proposals from the more than 100 nominees, with attendees monitoring the deliberations directly.
Umniah, which is at the forefront of the communication sector’s digital transformation in Jordan and across the region, implements a strategy based on international best practices according to the TM Forum Digital Maturity Model. Additionally, the company evaluates the Digital Transformation Maturity indicator three times annually in order to monitor customer satisfaction levels and the maturity of its technical services, continuously working to improve and develop them further.
Umniah's digital transformation policy is based on four main pillars, including developing and renewing its digital platforms such as its website and mobile phone app; transforming customer services to become completely digital, communicating with clients through the company’s website and mobile phone app and allowing them to provide feedback remotely; offering digital security, protection and financial solutions that allow customers to make mobile phone payments; and achieving a complete digital transformation in all aspects of the company’s operations and procedures.
Speaking about the nominations, Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara said, "The modern digital revolution offers communication and information technology companies large-scale opportunities, but also requires large-scale investments in order to reap the benefits." Shatara added that Umniah's recognition on the shortlist of the awards is indicative of its innovation digital transformation, with a focus on positive customer experiences.
The launch and continued development of Umniah’s mobile app is part of the company’s digital transformation strategy that encompasses all its services, sections and functions. Through the app, customers can benefit from a wide range of facilities that include self-services, inquiries, financial transactions, direct chats, feedback, and direct dealings with customer service representatives. App users can also reserve appointments at Umniah stores in an effort to reduce wait times, as well as use PayPal to easily and securely manage online payments.
Umniah's is the first Jordanian communications company to be awarded the ISO 10002 certification, which recognizes excellence in customer satisfaction, demonstrating the company’s firm commitment to international best practices in the field.
