White-label, end-to-end streaming video solution provider MobiTV has announced plans to launch a new data centre in Atlanta.
The location, operated by Digital Realty, already serves as a point-of-presence for MobiTV’s managed service connectivity and will become a new redundant site for the company’s Sacramento-based data centre, in order to provide greater resiliency for its video delivery service. The site will be available for failover, according to MobiTV, providing the capability to restore service for live programming in as little as one minute.
“We toured data centres across the country before choosing our location in Atlanta,” explained Casey Fann, vice president of operations at MobiTV. “This Digital Realty data centre location will give us the best proximity and accessibility to MVPDs and content providers on the East Coast, connecting to their circuits directly.”
