Russian national operator Rostelecom has expanded the coverage of its IPTV services in the Irkutsk region to the town of Biryusinsk in the Tayshet municipality, as well as in the settlement Khariki of the Kyutun municipality. Customers can receive 100 IPTV channels, including 26 in HD.
The services are planned to launch in the settlements of Kachug and Yelantsy by the end of this year. The IPTV subscriber base of Rostelecom exceeds 100,000 in the region.
Rostelecom also started deployment of its GPON network in the settlement of Kokhma in the Ivanovo region. Broadband at up to 1 Gbps and other digital services from the national operator will become available for households in the settlement.
Almost 50 percent of apartment houses in the city of Ivanovo are covered with the GPON network. Rostelecom plans the further expansion of its GPON network there.
In addition, Rostelecom said it deployed telecommunications infrastructure in the commercial centres Topol and Yasen in the city of Ivanovo. Fibre-optic networks have enabled almost 400 companies renting premises in the centres to access services from the national operator.
