Brazilian operator Vivo has invested BRL 48.5 million in Uberlandia in order to supply broadband and pay-TV, reports Diario de Uberlandia. Its coverage will include 115,000 homes and 20,000 companies in 79 neighbourhoods and it will supply internet at up to 300 Mbps for residential and corporate customers. Through the same fibre network, Vivo will offer a new subscription IPTV service with more than 100 HD channels and 45 live ones for tablets and mobile phones.

The services will be implemented in two stages, the first of which begins on 02 January, focusing on the districts of the central region and the east, north and south zones. The second phase will take place during the months of January and February. Uberlandia is the thirteenth city in the state of Minas Gerais to get Vivo's broadband service.
