TIM Brasil said it has passed 10 million customers covered by VoLTE in more than 2,200 cities in Brazil, including all state capitals. The technology, which uses the 4G network at all frequencies, including 700 MHz, greatly improves call quality, provides greater coverage and stability for voice calls, the operator said.
VoLTE has contributed to the TIM voice service being named the best among operators by the independent consultancy P3 Communications. The tests were carried out in Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro over more than 9,000 km during August and October.
TIM Brasil's goal is to offer VoLTE to 96 percent of the urban population by 2020 in more than 4,000 cities through the operator's 4G network.
