With over 3-million rides in one year, the ride hailing app for Tuk-tuk and motorcycle, Halan has dominated the slum areas transportation market in Egypt. Operating in Cairo, Alexandria, Delta and Upper Egypt, with plans to cover all untapped areas in the country.
Mounir Nakhla Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Halan said:
“the adaption to ride hailing technology in our (C and D) target segment has exceeded our expectations.”
Halan was founded in October 2017, by Mounir Nakhla, and co-founders Ahmed Mohsen CTO, and Mohamed Nagati CCO, to provide ride hailing transportation using Tuk-Tuks, and motorcycles to the mass in untapped areas across Egypt.
The service also caters to businesses by introducing smart technology to last mile delivery, espousing smart fleet management with fleet sourcing.
Halan mobile app comes in Arabic only as it’s the preferred language among (C & D) target segments in Egypt. Halan is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
With over 500,000 downloads to date on the Google Play Store, Halan is considered on of the fast growing apps in Egypt.
In September, Halan has successfully raised an undisclosed amount of investment in Series A funding round from local and international VCs as well as strategic partners.
With plans in mind to use the investment to increase its product offering and to grow to other markets in the MENA region, especially, after the successful launch in Sudan early this year.
