Vodafone Egypt has signed an agreement with Silicon Waha, affiliated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), to expand Vodafone’s business in Egypt and create job opportunities in new technology parks. The one-year protocol stipulates that Vodafone will provide 500 vacancies in customer service centres in the parks, either directly through one of the providers of such services in the parks of Borg Al Arab, Assiut and Beni Suef.
The two parties aim to maximise the benefits of technology parks, the abundance of skills and large number of university graduates of every discipline. They intend to qualify young people to join the labour market in IT, technical support, software development and electronics design.
The technology parks project is supervised by the ICT ministry and offers competitive operating costs and a stimulating investment environment. The protocol reflects the ministry’s keenness to meet the needs of local and international ICT companies using a skilled workforce and with the benefits of location and linguistic diversity.
