Cataleya, a provider of VoIP switching and analytics, will power Bangladesh’s mobile number portability system for its 22 International Gateway service providers (IGW). Starting October, the country’s 150 million mobile subscribers are able to port their number from one mobile operator to another. Cataleya will provide its MNP query service as part of the contract in Bangladesh.
Cataleya, was chosen by the International Gateway Operator Forum (IOF) and completed the deployment and testing of its MNP query service. The company developed a system which interworks with each of the 22 IGWs switches. The platform is capable of handling 10,000 queries per second using SIP protocol, while holding up to 100 million number portability records in an in-memory database, Cataleya said.
