Spotify is gearing up for the Middle East and North Africa launch

The music-streaming service Spotify will go live in the Middle East and North Africa soon, according to its verified twitter MENA account @SpotifyArabia.

The twitter account was created last month, hasn’t any tweets yet, gained over 8,000 followers, and covered with “Spotify is coming soon”.

The platform is now in Arabic across the region’s 19 countries – Which wasn’t the case few days ago when we went to verify reports by MENABytes highlighting an invite-only signup in four countries Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which was unavailable when we visited the site.

Typically, the service will be launched with the offer of a one-month free ­trial, after users provide their credit card information, similar to Netflix two years ago.

Operating across 65 markets, Spotify continues to be unavailable in a number of key territories, including India, Russia, and most of Africa.
