Pan-Asian local entertainment content provider Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE) has inked a carriage deal with Indonesian mobile operator Telkomsel to carry Celestial Movies, KIX and Thrill on its newly-launched Maxstream over-the-top platform.
The deal covers a number of core channel brands including Celestial Movies, the premier 24-hour first-run Chinese movie channel in Asia; KIX, for action entertainment; and Thrill, claimed to be Asia’s only regional horror, thriller and suspense movie channel. All three channels are offered with local language subtitles. KIX and Thrill will be available on Telkomsel’s basic channel pack for paid subscribers, while Celestial Movies will be on offer in the premium channel pack available for paid monthly data package subscribers.
As part of the bouquet for November 2018, Celestial Movies is to showcase a line-up of Chinese blockbusters including action-comedy movie Railroad Tigers starring superstar Jackie Chan and Huang Zitao and relationship drama In Your Dreams, starring award-winning actress Carina Lau. KIX will present its original production Extreme Ends, a reality show featuring four celebrities and their special guests experiencing the extreme opposite sides of Hong Kong. Thrill will air the first and exclusive premiere of Haunted Hospitals featuring stories of paranormal activities across hospitals, nursing homes, morgues and medical institutions.
“We are excited to partner with Telkomsel to further expand our reach with top-performing channels in Indonesia,” remarked Celestial Tiger Entertainment chief executive officer Todd Miller. “Through their highly reliable broadband network, Indonesian subscribers can enjoy our slate of unparalleled, Asian-targeted programs ranging from latest Chinese blockbusters to action entertainment and horror movies.”
