York Press, one of the UK’s leading independent publishers, has launched a brand new innovative digital platform, York-E, which aims to bring digital to the forefront of the education sector.
Built by specialist design and build agency MMT Digital, the platform enables teachers and students to manage and access learning resources online, from any device, at any time. The project’s developers believe that this is the first time a digital-first platform has been created at this scale or in this way within the educational publishing sector.
The platform is currently available in Egypt but will ultimately be released globally. As this is an entirely new digital venture for York Press, MMT also created a marketing site to promote and sell the platform.
Suzette Pettit, senior editor, York Press said: “York-E offers us the opportunity to sell our learning resources via the platform, providing us with an additional revenue stream. With a current focus on a move to digital within the educational publishing industry, the platform will help to position York Press at the forefront of this.”
Zannah Ingraham, client services director, MMT Digital said: “We have already developed several online learning solutions collaboratively with York Press to improve access to educational resources through digital. York-E is a culmination of a number of these innovations, bringing together best in class technology and user experience to offer a holistic solution for teachers and students.”
Future plans for the York-E platform involve a potential roll out to the Ministry of Education.
