ST Engineering's Electronics division has showcased its smart city capabilities at the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition 2018 (WETEX 2018) in Dubai. It displayed a suite of Internet of Things (IoT) services to enhance city management, manage transportation and improve quality of life for residents. Its cloud-based smart car park platform uses automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) and sensors to manage several parking systems concurrently cutting operating and maintenance costs by up to 25 percent.
ST Engineering exhibited its WISX IoT suite, with a single platform to support applications such as smart street lighting and indoor lighting, waste management, water and energy resource management, environment monitoring and lift monitoring. The WISX Smart Street Lighting and On-demand Lighting embedded with intelligent light control as well as predictive analytic capabilities will help municipalities realise up to 40 percent energy and maintenance cost savings.
