TIM Brasil and Telecom Infra Project (TIP) has announced a new, disaggregated device for mobile network infrastructure called Odyssey-DCSG. As a member of TIP and host company of the TIP Community Lab, the Brazilian operator is one of the four global operators that form part of the group responsible for developing a complex and sophisticated infrastructure that allows high-quality internet access around the world.
The group has established the basis for such devices that are open, disaggregated, fully interoperable and that do not impose restrictions on the use of software or hardware from different providers. Two project partners, ADVA Optical Networking and Edge-Core Networks, have already committed to work on the design of the Odyssey-DCSG.
