MegaFon has achieved a maximum mobile data speed above 1Gbps in tests on its live LTE network using a commercial handset, it announced on its website, claiming a Russian first.
The maximum speed of 1.059Gbps was measured in a data transmission to a Samsung Galaxy Note9 smartphone on MegaFon’s 4G LTE Cat 18 commercial network via aggregation of three 20MHz carriers using MIMO 4×4 technology, 256 QAM modulation and Nokia software.
