The Dutch Telecom Agency has developed a new tool for businesses to determine their reliance on telecommunications. With organisations increasingly dependent on connected devices and online applications, more preparation is needed to prepare for service outages, the regulator said.
The ‘Quickscan Uitval Telecom’ tool takes 5-10 minutes to fill in online and provides businesses with advice on measures they could take to help prevent major disruptions to their activities of they were to lose access to telecom services. The tool is part of the agency's 'televulnerability' programme to raise awareness on the dependence on telecoms.
