Paratus Telecom has concluded the first phase of its upgrades to its LTE data network in South Africa. Phase two will commence in November when the equipment arrives from the vendor manufacturing line. The upgrade has increased throughput speeds on the network substantially and Paratus is confident about completing the upgrades on the rest of the grid.
The two upgrade phases were separated because of manufacturing time frames and deliverables. This ensured that network inconsistencies were resolved. Paratus believes that the next phase will be carried out with minimum disruption to existing services.
