Serbia Broadband (SBB) has announced that Novi Sad and Subotica will become the first cities in Serbia to introduce 1Gbps services on October 18.
They will be joined by Belgrade and Kragujevac in 2019, by which stage the company will have the largest gigabit network in the country, reaching over 700,00 households.
United Group-owned SBB notes that it can already support internet speeds of up to 1Gbps through existing cables to homes and businesses and continues to improve its HFC network.
By further developing DOCSIS 3.1 technology on its existing network SBB will have the ability to provide internet speeds of up to 10Gbps.
