Nexign (formerly Peter-Service), a business support system (BSS) provider for communications service providers (CSPs), has announced plans to open the company’s Middle East and Africa (MEA) headquarters in Dubai.
As part of its expansion in the region, the company also appointed Ahmad Sayed as Regional Director, Middle East and Africa. These moves send a strong signal of the company’s commitment to empowering regional telecom operators to maximise revenue streams in the digital era.
Operating as Peter-Service for the past 26 years, Nexign has established a strong and reliable track record of executing successful BSS transformation projects―across all tiers―at a significantly lower total cost of ownership (TCO) than the market average. In fact, to date, the company has completed over 120 projects for 50 major network operators, including the likes of MegaFon, Turkcell, and Rostelecom.
As regional director Sayed is tasked with establishing a strong local sales and technical team, building strategic regional partnerships and expanding the customer base. Sayed has over 30 years of management experience with the largest operators and solution providers across EMEA, including a 15-year stint with British Telecom UK where he spearheaded the development and implementation of a line of BSS products for BT and its subsidiaries across Europe.
“If regional operators are to make the transition from CSPs to digital service providers (DSPs), it is imperative that they align with a BSS vendor that address key themes such as cloud, partnerships, customer experience, digital channels, self-care and new monetisation streams for 5G, blockchain and IoT. At the same time, the BSS vendor needs to be agile, adopt best practices for product development and delivery and offer a transparent, partnership-based engagement model,” said Sayed.
“I firmly believe that this is Nexign’s competitive advantage, allowing us to offer a unique value proposition to telecom operators in the region. I am extremely excited about the prospect of enabling operators to overcome the challenges they face and capitalise on new opportunities presented by digital transformation, as well as growing Nexign’s market presence and leadership in Middle East and Africa,” he concluded.
