AfricaXP (AXP) has begun providing thirteen new free-to-air (FTA) channels in Nigeria in a bundle branded 'Premium.Free'. They are delivered via SES satellites at 28.2 degrees East, SES said. AfricaXP owns and operates over 20 themed channels supplied to major African broadcasters and African diaspora platforms worldwide.
The package includes premium channels custom-made for African viewers, and blend African programming with international productions in categories including sports, films, telenovelas, children's programmes, documentaries, fly-in-the wall reality and "lifestyle" shows.
SES reaches over 9 million Direct-to-Home households in West Africa from its orbital position of 28.2 degrees East. The new channels will be accessible on existing FTA set-top boxes (STBs).
