Uzbekistan national operator Uztelecom and Kyrgyzstan ISP Elkat have deployed a cross-border link connecting their networks, reports Uzreport.uz. The link was built in the area between the town of Kuvasay in the Fergana region and the town of Kyzyl-Kiya in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan.
Uztelecom and Elkat have signed an agreement on the connection of their networks and providing telecommunications services.
The new link has provided Uztelecom with an alternative internet traffic route via the Kyrgyzstan area and also enables Uztelecom to carry transit traffic to Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
