Digital TV products and services provider Mirada has launched a new multiscreen app to deliver its Iris technology across LG and Samsung smart TVs, Android-based TVs and streaming devices such as Apple TV and Chromecast.
The Iris solution is present with pay-TV leader and allows customers to watch live, catch-up and on-demand content across set-top boxes, smartphones, tablets and laptops. With the new app, operators are said to be able to provide content along with Iris features.
Mirada says that it developed the apps to offer a future-proof solution for operators who are looking to satisfy subscribers’ new preference to watch content on connected TVs such as the aforementioned smart TVs from the likes of Panasonic, Philips, Sharp and Sony; or via media streaming devices. By providing their service to subscribers in such a way, Mirada says that operators can make their content more accessible and therefore more likely to be consumed, which will extend the potential of their customer base and put them ahead of competitors.
It adds that operators will also benefit from reduced hardware costs as well as the potential for the ongoing rollout of new, advanced features to enhance their service while satisfying ever-changing customer expectations.
