Brazil's Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications has signed a MoU with Huawei for innovative technical cooperation and research and development programmes for ICT services. The MoU covers technical and economic feasibility studies for the expansion and improvement of broadband in Brazil, through 5G technology and fiber optic networks.
In Huawei's view, the agreement should promote tangible results in ICT services, such as triple the number of households connected by optical fiber and double the number of mobile broadband localities in Brazil. The cooperation also includes public policy recommendations to foster smart and secure city applications, the massive adoption of cloud computing, and the preparation of the IoT ecosystem.
