Batelco Sponsors Gunners United Team in the ‘Nasser 11’ Ramadan Football Tournament
Manama, Bahrain: As part of its CSR commitment to Sports and Youth events, Batelco announced its sponsorship of the Gunners United team participating in the 11th edition of the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Ramadan Tournament, which is taking place at Shaikh Khalifa Sports City until May 31.
“The various sporting events being held in the Kingdom provide an ideal platform for different segments of the community to congregate. We are very proud to be sponsoring the team, a gesture that stems from Batelco’s eagerness to support local sporting initiatives in line with our CSR focus,” commented Batelco’s Chairman, Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
“His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s Ramadan Football Tournament and other sporting events of this nature contribute both to the development of the youth and the enhancement of the players’ skills. We are proud to be sponsoring the Gunners United team and wish them the best of luck in the tournament,” Shaikh Mohamed added.
This sponsorship forms part of Batelco’s CSR commitment to supporting and encouraging the youth to participate in sporting events hosted across the Kingdom. Such involvement helps to encourage team spirit and cooperation in addition to providing the opportunity for participants to develop their football skills.
During past tournaments, Batelco’s Gunners United team marked several successes, including winning the Batelco Championship in 2013, the Tarabut Tournament and the 10th edition of HH Shaikh Nasser’s Tournament in 2017.
