TIM Participacoes (TIM Brasil) has inaugurated a 2Gbps fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service in selected parts of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. TeleTime reports that the upgraded service was soft-launched back in October 2017, but has now gone live in a total of 17 neighbourhoods across the two cities, passing around 200,000 households in total. The 2Gbps connection is priced at BRL1,560 (USD455.3) per month.
