Azerfon (Nar), Azerbaijan’s third largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, has announced that during Q1 2018 it expanded its 4G LTE network with the addition of 84 base transceiver stations (BTS) in Baku and the Absheron peninsula, with a further 63 BTS in other regions. The new regions to be covered with 4G BTSare Agjabedi, Goychay, Guba, Gusar, Hajiqabul, Jalilabad, Khackmaz, Mingachevir, Oguz, Saatli, Salyan, Shabran, Sheki, Shamkir, Shirvan, Siyazanm, Tovuz and Zagatala. Customers in these regions will be able to access data connection rates of up to 225Mbps on Nar’s mobile network.
Nar’s mobile network covers 93% of the country’s territory, with over two million subscribers and more than 6,500 base stations.
