Orange Egypt has cautioned its customers about any link that may ask for their data and warned them against sharing any private information such as bank account numbers, credit cards numbers, PIN codes or passwords. Orange Egypt said its customer service representatives will never request such information, unless the customer requests to make an electronic payment on his Orange personal account, and that will be through filling in official forms at one of Orange’s branches.
In this case, some of the customer's bank details would be required, but not including PIN codes or passwords. It added that disclosing such information is the responsibility of its holder and there is no legal liability on the company, which always adheres to the governing laws in the country. Orange said it will not ask for such information through social media, texts or phones calls. The company emphasised that some people may exploit the its namey to steal from customers.
