El Salvador’s Electricity and Telecommunications Superintendency (Superintendencia General de Electricidad y Telecom, SIGET) has launched a public consultation on its plans to hold the long-delayed auction of 140MHz of mobile spectrum in the 1900MHz and 1700MHz/2100MHz (AWS) bands. The frequencies include 20MHz (2×10MHz) in the 1850MHz-1860MHz/1930MHz-1940MHz range and 120MHz (2×60MHz) in the 1710MHz-1770MHz/2110MHz-2170MHz range. The public consultation will be open for ten working days, during which time parties will be able to express their interest in participating in the process.
