TPG connects first building to Ten Gigabit Adelaide network

Australian operator TPG Telecom has announced the first CBD buildings to be connected to the Ten Gigabit Adelaide service. The first Ten Gigabit Adelaide-connected building is Lord Mayor Martin Haese. 40 buildings are currently in the process of being offered services, with an additional 160 buildings being finalised shortly. The network will be progressively rolled out to 1,000 buildings within the next two years.

The Ten Gigabit Adelaide targets businesses and corporate data users located in the Adelaide CBD. TPG Telecom was recently appointed as Official Network Partner to deliver and install the new fibre optic network, provide 10Gbps synchronous data transfer capability and services tailored for each individual user.

The City of Adelaide and TPG Telecom have announced today that Ten Gigabit Adelaide access will be avaialbe for a starting price of AUD 399 + AUD 39.90 GST per month. "From today, businesses in the first 40 connected buildings will be able to get up to 10GB access from an extremely low cost of AUD 399 + AUD 39.90 GST per month" said Mark Rafferty, TPG’s Group Executive of Corporate, Government and Wholesale.

Under the TPG 1Gbps internet offer, charge is based on a 48-month contract with no installation charges. The Minimum cost is AUD 21,067.20. The offer is only available in TPG 10Gbps Adelaide enabled buildings within the Adelaide CBD and North Adelaide area.

The TPG 1Gbps Unlimited Internet offer includes 9Gbps of available bandwidth for customers to access when they need it. When activating the available 9Gbps an additional monthly charge of AUD 199 + AUD 19.90 GST will be added to the existing charge of AUD 399 + AUD 39.90 GST per month.
