Vodafone is preparing to launch an IPTV platform in the Czech Republic by the end of this year.
Quoting two independent sources, Digizone reports that the company has announced a tender for an IPTV supplier, adding that it is likely to be contested by at least five companies.
These could include Beenius.tv or GigaTV, which are used by Vodafone in the German market, as well as Ericsson Media.
Also in the frame is the Czech company SledovaniTV.cz, which provided Vodafone with a mobile solution in 2015.
However, nangu.tv, which supplies solutions for O2 TV and T-Mobile TV, has refused to participate in the tender. So, too, have several other companies including Aim and Smart Comp.
According to Digizone, quoting Veronika Exnerová from the company’s press department, Vodafone has refused to comment on its possible entry into the Czech IPTV market.
