The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) announced a donation of EUR 16.7 million to finance an extension of the Central African Backbone (CAB) project to bring fibre optic connectivity to the Central African Republic.
This will be complemented by EU funds amounting to EUR 16.6 million, for a total investment of EUR 33.3 million. Work will be carried out between 2018 and 2021, enabling the development of new services in the country and interconnection with its neighbours.
