CenturyLink presents OTT TV App for Fire TV Device

CenturyLink has extended support of its relatively new, nationally-available OTT TV service to Amazon Fire TV devices.

The telco, which introduced CenturyLink Stream in June, launched an app for Fire TV last week, according to Cord Cutters News.

Fire TV expands the list of devices/platforms supported by CenturyLink Streams. Others include iOS and Android mobile devices, web browsers, Roku players and Roku TVs, and the CenturyLink Player, an Android TV-powered distributed by the telco that’s made by LG Electronics. The CenturyLink Player, sold by the telco for $89.99, supports HD and 4K video formats, integrates 802.11ac, 8GB of storage, and features voice-activated search.

CenturyLink Stream is also selling Showtime for an additional $9 per month, and is offering several add-on packages:

The nationally-available CenturyLink Stream includes a baseline package that starts at $45 per month, includes a cloud DVR, and allows subs to tack-on several other programming packages and a few la carte options.

CenturyLink Stream lets subs stream live TV and VOD on up to three devices at the same time, and install the service on as many as 20 devices.

CenturyLink stream complements an in-market, managed IPTV offering from CenturyLink called Prism TV that is powered by Ericsson’s Mediaroom platform.
