The first network operators in Germany have launched IPTV services based on the white label platform compiled by B2B service provider purtel.com.
purTV contains linear and non-linear television, video-on-demand in 4K quality, the catch-up services of the public broadcasters and a radio app with around 30,000 channels.
The user interface has been created by French software developer Netgem while the distribution rights for the TV channels are supplied by German service provider content4tv.
purTV is completed by agreements with royalty societies such as GEMA and VG Media as well as RTL.
“The feedback to the introduction of purTV as a solution comprising many different tasks from a single source in summer this year has been sustainably positive,” said Dr Markus von Voss, Managing Director of purtel.com. “A double-digit number of further municipal utilities providers and regional telecommunications companies are now concluding contracts with us at short notice. These companies will become IPTV providers with their own TV product in early 2018.”
The wholesale supplier has so far provided around 70 customers from the areas of fibre-optic, DSL and cable networks with internet, telephony and billing services. The IPTV solution presented at ANGA COM 2017 expands the product range.
