Bank Muscat, ITA and Visa join hands to highlight emerging trends in electronic payments

Bank Muscat in association with the Information Technology Authority (ITA) and Visa, the world's leader in digital payments, hosted a seminar on 'Emerging trends in electronic payments' at Bank Muscat head office.

The seminar was attended by dignitaries and a large number of key government, banking, technology and industry sectors representatives, according to a press release.

Dr Eng Yaqoob al Balushi, deputy CEO of infrastructure and eServices at ITA, was the guest of honour at the event. The seminar aimed at familiarising and sharing insights on the latest developments and technology linked to electronic payments shaping the future of customer experience.

Topics covered in the seminar by technology experts from Visa included ecommerce and growth in card acquiring business, innovation and latest development trends in electronic payments, role of the regulatory ecosystem in driving cashless payments for a digital economy, and security perspective on the global payments landscape.
