Vodafone Egypt recorded revenues of EGP 4.8bn during the third quarter (Q3) of this year, compared with EGP 4.5bn during Q2 of this year, an increase of 6.6%.
Vodafone Group’s financial results for the first nine months of this year revealed revenue of EGP13.6bn, according to the company.
Vodafone Egypt had 42.1m subscribers at the end of September, compared to 41.8m at the end of June 2017.
The company added 120,000 billed customers and 193,000 subscribers to prepaid plans.
Vodafone Egypt’s ownership is divided between Vodafone UK, owning a 55% share, and 45% being owned by Telecom Egypt, which recently entered the mobile market to become the fourth operator in Egypt.
On another note, Vodafone Egypt attracted about 29,000 subscribers to the high-speed internet market during Q3 of this year.
The company adds an average of 30,000 subscribers to internet services every three months, with a total of 358,000 subscribers at the end of September compared to 329,000 at the end of June.
According to Vodafone’s indicators, the company had 91,000 subscribers join since the beginning of this year. Vodafone Egypt ranks third in the landline market, with a market share of about 7.5%.
The number of high-speed internet customers in Egypt exceeds 4.8 million. Telecom Egypt’s TE Data serves 75% of the market’s customers.
