SMEs benefited from the first e-commerce training series held by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) this week.
The training initiative is in line with the UAE’s wider objectives to transition to a knowledge economy and boost the country’s smart economic development objectives.
The attending SMEs were coached on the specific role that e-commerce is playing in the economy, as well as the e-payment portal, logistical services management, activation of points of sale services, stores’ management and monitoring, among other topics. in a training workshop staged through the Center of Digital Innovation (CoDI).
Mohammad Al Zarooni, Director Policies and Programs Department at the TRA, said: “The e-commerce sector is one of the main trends of the smart transformation phase. The TRA is responsible of monitoring the accreditation services in the UAE, for the aim of authorising, accreditation and monitoring of service providers activities in electronic accreditation, providing the technical requirements of a safe and secure e-commerce market to ensure meeting the interests of enterprises and customers.”
TRA is committed to reducing fraudulent electronic correspondence and its subsequent changes, as well as reducing opportunities for fraud in e-commerce and other e-transactions, through establishing unified principles of rules, regulations and standards relating to the authentication and reliability of e-correspondence, to enhance confidence in the validity of the transactions, correspondence and e-records, as well as enhance e-commerce and other e-transactions on national and global levels, through the use of e-signatures.
The workshop is part of a series of workshops, planned by TRA to raise public awareness on modern economic outcomes of ICT, enabling them to perform their work in a clear and secure manner, ensuring continuity of economic development and further prosperity for the country.
