Quebec-based quad-play operator Videotron has commercially launched VoLTE services across its 4G mobile network covering Quebec province and Ottawa, less than a month after rival Telus expanded its own VoLTE service to the whole of Quebec.
Videotron subscribers with a VoLTE-compatible device and SIM may self-activate the new service via their smartphone’s settings, whilst Videotron also says that users may utilise their own Apple iOS-based device – iPhone 6 or newer – although the report notes that bring-your-own-device (BYOD) Android-based phones are not yet supported.
