Oman Air Cargo has introduced a new 100% Cloud-based cargo ERP (enterprise resource planning) solution from SmartKargo: an advanced cargo management platform suitable for airlines, ground handlers, sales agents and regulators.
Oman Air stated that it chose SmartKargo to “maximise the potential of its cargo business – leveraging the solution’s advanced, real-time capability to bring digital transformation to all aspects of the business” and thereby improve both its revenues and quality of customer service.
SmartKargo offers web-based browser access for Oman Air’s agents and employees.
The platform facilitates the more to paperless business processes such as electronic air waybill (eAWBs) and offers the capability to digitally collect, store and transmit relevant documentation.
Immediate access to all sorts of relevant data, full shipment visibility and SmartKargo’s robust reporting capability offers significant potential for revenue and capacity management.
The SmartKargo Link capability within the system will also facilitate Oman Air Cargo’s interline opportunities by streamlining processes and communications with partner airlines – opening up new revenue potential, the freight carrier declared.
A capability for customer bookings to be made via a mobile app is expected to follow in coming months.
“We chose the SmartKargo Cloud solution due to the robust infrastructure, platform and advanced technology that it is built upon,” stated Mohammed Al Musafir, senior vice president – commercial cargo at Oman Air.
“We can now provide easy, secure access via integration with any business partner across the world, with little effort.
“The full SmartKargo ERP solution was deployed in less than two months. Within the first 24 hours, the Go-Live system registered a tremendous response from users globally,” he added.
“The successful implementation of the Oman Air SmartKargo system has been a phenomenal success for us all. The team and support have been amazing and we look forward to leveraging latest technology in advancing our business for years to come,” Al Musafir enthused.
