Orange Spain has announced an agreement to bring fibre-optic services to the town of Coria in the Extremadura region in a project valued at EUR 1.2 million. Around 7,100 premises, some 92 percent of local homes and businesses, will have fibre-optic coverage by next year, said Orange. The operator has already spent some EUR 250,000 to extend its 4G network to around 86 percent of the town's population.
