China’s Zhejiang Zhongnan Animation Company (also known as Zoland Animation) and French digital start-up MEI Group have joined forces to launch a children’s online video platform in South East Asia.
ZOKAST KIDS.TV will offer up to 1,000 hours of Chinese animation in English and Chinese, and after its initial roll-out in South East Asia, will launch in North America and the rest of the world. Other languages will be added as it becomes available worldwide, including French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch.
“We are very excited about Zokast Kids.TV because this is an excellent platform to bridge culture and creativity between China and the rest of the world. Through our partnership with MEI Group, we look forward to launching a well-developed digital service where kids not only can be entertained watching our wide range of programmes, but also gain knowledge and hopefully, become better individuals as a result,” said Mr Wu, chairman, Zhejiang Zhongnan Animation.
The subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service is being powered by MEI’s solutions FlameFy & OKAST, which use big data analysis on audience and content consumption to deliver a rich and user friendly service for children.
The online video platform aims to engage young viewers with interactivity, exciting games and interesting content, the companies said.
Cedric Monnier, CEO of MEI Group said: “We’re thrilled to be partners on such an exciting project with one of the most recognised studios in the Chinese children’s animation industry. We’re establishing here an innovative OTT service with the use of artificial intelligence technologies to empower collected data and then deliver a very personalised and educational experience to kids.”
ZOKAST KIDS.TV has launched as a beta trial and will expected to launch commercially at the end of the year.
